Signature Assignment

The following items were primarily developed independently of one another to practice skills in a variety of scenarios.

Digital Document: infographic

Learning Objective: Compare the concepts of terror and horror in literature.

Instructional Strategy: This infographic can easily be placed inside a learning module or on a handout to give learners an engaging visual aid to help remember the concepts related to each concept.

Original Digital Video: Screencast

Learning Objective: Create original videos using Animotica.

Instructional Strategy: A screencast video is an excellent way to show students how to use software or websites by providing a step-by-step visual. No more searching for buttons or hidden menus described by text tutorials; with a screencast tutorial, learners can see exactly how to use the tools with no ambiguity.

Also, by uploading videos to YouTube, you can reach a wider range of learners and easily incorporate accessibility features, such as captions.

Enhanced digital images

#1 -  Interactive Image

I created this image from scratch using Microsoft Publisher and added the interactive buttons using

interactive-img.com.

Learning Objective: Create a personalized research plan.

Instructional Strategy: This image is an example research plan for learners to use as a starting point for developing their own. Using an image rather than a document template forces the learner to create their own, and the helpful buttons allow them to see suggestions and methodology for their choices.

#2 -  Flyer

The tree image is Creative Commons and all editing was done in MS Publisher.

Learning Objective: Create a marketing logo and compelling advertising text.

Instructional Strategy: This flyer could be used as an example of creating simple but effective logos and copy for marketing purposes.
